KRIYA ANGELS is a contemporary art series created to honor and celebrate prominent angel investors and venture leaders through portrait-led artworks. It is inspired by the original spirit of the “angel,” first associated with Broadway patrons who helped bold creative work reach the stage, long before William Wetzel coined the modern business term “angel investor” in 1978.
Through curated annual editions, KRIYA ANGELS builds cultural recognition around creativity, entrepreneurship, and future-facing impact. Over time, it is being developed with a long-term vision to evolve into an art-backed global angel network rooted in culture, patronage, and meaningful support.

INTRODUCTION
KRIYA ANGELS is a contemporary art series and cultural platform created to celebrate people who support creativity, culture, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and future-facing impact. The idea of the “angel” first emerged in the world of Broadway theatre, where patrons helped bring bold, creative productions to life, long before the modern business term “angel investor” was coined in 1978 in the context of early-stage company financing.
In that spirit, KRIYA ANGELS begins as an artist-studio-led project created to celebrate remarkable creatives and supporters of art, culture, and meaningful impact. It is envisioned as a global art initiative that honors patronage, visibility, and purposeful participation, and is being developed over time with the long-term goal of becoming an art-backed global network that supports art, culture, and selected future-facing ventures within an appropriate legal and commercial framework.
KRIYA ANGELS, incubated by artist Manohar Chiluveru and Kriya Art House, is being developed as a long-term cultural platform that brings together art, visibility, patronage, and meaningful participation. Through curated annual editions, it aims to build a body of artworks whose exhibition, sale, and auction can help support future creative and cultural ventures.
In the years ahead, KRIYA ANGELS is intended to evolve into a new global art-backed angel network rooted in culture, patronage, and meaningful support.
